Slacker!

Ok so I know it has been six weeks since I last posted but holidays, working, cleaning, painting and especially my two lovely children take up a lot of time. I usually don't even look at my blog unless I am here at work. I have also been doing facebook a little more lately. It was a very busy, but wonderful holiday season! I was literally wrapping gifts for each of the four family Christmas's right up to the last second. I sure enjoyed seeing all my family and especially playing Guitar Hero with my brothers and Ben! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I have also made some New Years goals a few of which I make every year.......to loose a few pounds bla bla bla, but mostly to be healthier in all aspects of my life. So far........I have failed. A nasty cold has made its way from Harper, to Finley and I (which is still hanging on), and now Ben may be the lucky owner. Oh well such is life. Maybe my New Year will begin February! (Thats usually how it goes all year until I push them off until the next January one month at a time!)

Thanksgiving Pies

Finley making pie. She was very into it as you can see!

Harper had a great time too. He was covered in flour at the end of the day. He insisted on keeping his Batman shirt on. He looked down and said with a smile, " Look I am not Batman anymore, I am Whiteman!" He laughed and laughed. We did too!

A few of the finished products. Every year us women in my family get together to make pies.
We usually make about 20. Our record a few years ago was 28. This year we made 15, coconut cream, chocolate cream, banana cream, pecan, cherry, apple, and of course pumpkin! Yum Yum!

Finley Kaye

ItalicFin just happened to get a stool and make her way onto the counter the other day. As I was scolding her that this is a dangerous maneuver, I decided that she looked pretty cute sitting in front of the window. I had to snap a few pictures as fast as I could because her next maneuver was to stand at the edge and yell "mama" as she was stepping off! Luckily I grabbed her just in time. She is so much more of a climber than Harper ever was. She may have even shown him how to climb on the counter. I can see this is just the beginning with her. Love you Fin.

Catching Up a Bit

I am not posting as much as I would like. There are several things that have gone on since my last post. Ben just turned the big 31 on the 20th! I had to work that day, but we did have a big breakfast with his family at Jim's in A.F. Harper made daddy a green Birthday card that he had drawn Batman and The Joker on. Every time I asked Ben what he wanted for his Birthday, he insisted that he wanted Harper to have a new bike and a helmet. So that's what he got, along with some new clothes for fall. Pretty exciting stuff when you turn 31.

Harper has now had 3 weeks of preschool and he still cries when I drop him off. I was the teacher this week and it turned out to be pretty fun. We learned about the letter "C", Autumn, and the number 2. We made caterpillars in the shape of the letter "C", fall trees with red, orange, and yellow tissue paper leaves, and had candy corn, crackers, and cheese for snack time. If I ever think that one three and a half year old is hard to handle, I will think again. Trying to keep seven of them on task, happy, and away from each others candy corn, was like trying to swallow seven saltine crackers with no milk. It was impossible, but we all lived and I believe we all had a good time.
